MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – The German group Knauf is ready to assist with exporting products to be made by the new factory of the Belarusian construction materials company Belgips in the town of Gatovo, Minsk District. The possibilities were discussed as Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin met with Knauf Group Managing Partner Manfred Grundke and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian company Volma Corporation Yuri Goncharov, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.
Manfred Grundke and Yuri Goncharov talked about progress in implementing the investment project to build the factory to make gypsum-based construction materials in Gatovo. Manfred Grundke noted that Knauf Group has been investing at least €500 million all over the world every year for the last few years. Taking into account the successful implementation of the investment project in Belarus Knauf Group is ready to increase the volume of investments by €27 million to €70 million by setting up new manufacturing facilities (premixes and expanded pearlite) as part of the investment project. Knauf Group is also ready to use its distribution channels to export the products the future factory will make.
Anatoly Kalinin mentioned the importance and the scale of the investment project for Belarus. He assured the German side that the Belarusian government is ready to consider proposals meant to advance cooperation with Germany and enable additional conditions for larger investments in the Belarusian economy on mutually beneficial terms.
