Kiev to host major expo of Belarusian products in April

MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – An exhibition of Belarusian manufacturers Made in Belarus is scheduled to take place in Kiev, Ukraine on 11-14 April, BelTA learned from representatives of the BelInterExpo enterprise of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The expo will be Belarus’ largest event of the kind in Ukraine in the last few years. The expo will be organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with BelInterExpo acting as the expo operator. The expo will be arranged with assistance of the embassy of Belarus in Ukraine and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine.

The Kiev International Exhibition Center will showcase the leading Belarusian brands in such areas as mechanical engineering, petrochemical industry, transportation and logistics, agriculture and food, woodworking and construction materials, light industry, healthcare and pharmaceutics, information technologies, and tourism.

The collective stand of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim will feature a number of the concern’s companies such as Grodno Azot (polyamide fibers and composite materials), Naftan (acrylic fibers, polyethylene, small-scale chemistry), Mogilevkhimvolokno (artificial fibers and yarns, polyester films, PET preforms), Mineral Wax Plant (mineral wax, protective wax), Gomel Chemical Plant (mixed fertilizers). Belshina’s trading house in Ukraine will present car tires and truck tires of various rim sizes.

The Belarusian automaker BelAZ will present haul trucks of various carrying capacities. Over 2,000 BelAZ haul trucks are used in Ukraine today. They represent over 90% of the country’s haul truck fleet. Brestgazoapparat Company will showcase gas stoves, gas-electric stoves, and electric stoves, built-in appliances, and air purifiers, which are sold under the Gefest brand. The company exports more than 80% of its output to Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Cuba. Starters and generators for automobiles, buses, agricultural machines, and utility vehicles will be showcased by OAO BATE, the managing company of the holding company Automotive Components. Night vision systems, binoculars, optics components (prisms, lenses, and mirrors), code beacons and flashing beacons will be showcased by the Rogachev-based enterprise Diaprojector.

All kinds of yarn and knitted goods will be put on display by the Pinsk-based apparel manufacturer Polesie. The product range includes daily wear for men and women made of flax-containing yarn, apparel for children, textiles, products designed for infants.

A broad range of dairy products will be showcased by Shchuchin Creamery. Those are various rennet cheeses, cheddarized cheeses, butter, and dry formulas. The company can process over 450 tonnes of milk per day in order to turn out over 50 kinds of products. A Belarusian variety of the Italian cheese ricotta will be presented by Dyatlovo Cheese-Making Plant (the Cheese Land trademark). Minsk Refrigerating Plant No.2 will present various kinds of ice cream. Minsk Grape Wines Factory will present a renewed lineup of hard liquors.

Other Belarusian manufacturers are invited to submit their applications for participation in the Made in Belarus expo in Kiev.

The first expo of this kind took place in Astana, Kazakhstan in August 2017. More than 70 Belarusian companies took part in that expo. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov and Kazakhstan Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev took part in the opening ceremony. Over 30 contracts and agreements of intent were signed during the expo. The contracts provided for selling 3,000 Belarusian tractors to Kazakhstan, at least 50 loaders to the tune of over $2 million, jewelry, and food.
