Investment forum in Mogilev to bring together businessmen from over 40 countries

MOGILEV, 12 October (BelTA) – Businessmen from more than 40 countries will take part in the eighth edition of the international investment forum Mill of Success to be held in the Belarusian city of Mogilev on 4 and 5 November, Viktor Nekrashevich, Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, said at the meeting on the organization of the forum on 12 October, BelTA has learned.

In 2014, the investment forum in Mogilev welcomed some 400 guests and participants. This year’s event will host some 600 businessmen from 40 countries. Senior government officials from a number of CIS and non-CIS countries have already confirmed their participation. The organizers of the forum expect to welcome large delegations from Poland, Germany, China, Georgia, Turkey, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and other countries. “This means that the forum is growing in popularity. This places additional responsibility on the organizers who work to ensure that the organization of all the business events is top-notch and that the region gets considerable economic effect from new investment projects,” Viktor Nekrashevich emphasized.

He believes that the forum will draw investment to the region, boost exports, improve the competitiveness of the products of the enterprises of Mogilev Oblast, and help establish economic ties. “We have drafted many documents, from agreements on cooperation between economic entities to large investment agreements. We cannot give any specific details as the draft documents may undergo changes. Still, we can say for sure that the number of participants and the amount of attracted investments are growing year by year,” Viktor Nekrashevich noted.

The exhibition of investment and innovation projects of the Belarusian region will be the main event of the forum. The program of the event includes a plenary meeting, an exhibition of the industrial potential of Mogilev Oblast, and an expo of agricultural machinery. The work at the forum will be divided into four major sections: “Industrial Sector, Mogilev Free Economic Zone and Production of Building Materials”, “Food Industry and Agriculture”, “Development of Tourism”, and “Belarusian-Chinese Business Meeting”.

Viktor Nekrashevich said that a decision was made to hold the forum every year instead of once in two years as it was before. The city of Bobruisk will play host to the forum in 2017. The tenth edition of the forum will be held in Mogilev in 2018. The business event will traditionally gather representatives of large banks, European business organizations, local and national government agencies, and chambers of commerce and industry.
