International economic cooperation forum to open in Minsk on 9 September

MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – An international forum on economic cooperation will take place in Minsk on 9 September, BelTA learned from Deputy Chairwoman of the Economy Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee Tatiana Selivonik on 6 September.
According to the source, the international economic cooperation forum will take place in the National Library of Belarus on 9 September as part of Minsk City Day celebrations. Over 100 foreign delegations have already confirmed their plans to participate in the forum. The delegations will come from Uzbekistan, Palestine, Pakistan, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, China, Vietnam, and other countries. Representatives of leading Belarusian ministries and representatives of major Belarusian enterprises are expected to make speeches during the plenary session. “We hope that contracts will be signed. Our enterprises will also be able to find business partners at the forum. We will present our investment and industrial potential, tourism so that even more countries would come to us to Belarus,” Tatiana Selivonik said.
An exhibition of Minsk’s manufacturing sector will open outside the National Library on 8 September. The exhibition will last for two days. Over 12 Belarusian state-run enterprises and private manufacturers will take part in it. The exhibition will feature products made by MTZ, MAZ, Amkodor, and Belkommunmash, the official said.
Over 16 official delegations are expected to attend Minsk City Day celebrations: delegations from 14 regions of Russia, delegations from Armenia and Kazakhstan have confirmed they will come. The guests will visit MAZ, Amkodor, and Kommunarka. Agreements on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology, on social and cultural cooperation are supposed to be signed between the government of Russia’s Murmansk Oblast and the Belarusian government. Minsk will also sign an agreement with the administration of Sevastopol and a memorandum on further advancement of twinning relations with Novosibirsk.
