MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – The inter-parliamentary groups of Belarus and China will intensify work in the trade and economic sector, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko told the media after the meeting with the Chinese parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhang Dejiang, BelTA has learned.
“We have discussed the role of the inter-parliamentary groups and agreed to intensify their work, especially in the trade and economic relations, investment cooperation and the implementation of important joint projects,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation, interaction in the international arena. The speaker stated that in the recent years Belarus and China have made great progress in implementing cultural, educational and scientific projects. “It is important since the modern economy is the economy of knowledge. During today’s meeting we have outlined a wide range of promising cooperation areas in these sectors,” noted the chairman of the House of Representatives. The matter concerns the bilateral exchange of students, research works.
Vladimir Andreichenko named the current visit of the Chinese delegation “a very important and serious step in developing inter-parliamentary relations between Belarus and China.” “Belarusian and Chinese MPs are determined for serious joint work,” he said.
