MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian Industry Ministry and Rosagroleasing have signed an agreement on selling Belarusian machines and vehicles to Russian agricultural enterprises on terms of financial leasing, BelTA has learned.
The document was signed in Minsk by Belarusian Industry Minister Pavel Utyupin and Rosagroleasing Director General Pavel Kosov. The document provides for compensating for part of the payments in order to sell machines and vehicles made by 80 Belarusian manufacturers in Russia on leasing terms. Russian farmers will be able to avail themselves of preferential leasing schemes for up to five years with partially subsidized payments as early as August.
Pavel Utyupin mentioned the agreement was important both for the Belarusian side and the Russian one. “I am convinced that the arrangements we have reached will have a positive effect on growth of trade between our countries,” the industry minister concluded.
In turn, Pavel Kosov said that Russia’s agriculture is experiencing an acute shortage of light tractors. The demand is estimated at about 4,000 units. “The agreement we have signed will expedite the renewal of the vehicle fleet and will help deal with the shortage in this segment,” he stressed.
