Industrial cooperation seen as essential for EAEU economic security

NESVIZH, 4 June (BelTA) - Industrial cooperation is the key to economic security of the states members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, BelTA has learned.

“The horizons for the development of economic integration in the Eurasian Economic Union are defined in the Eurasian Economic Way declaration until 2030 and 2045, signed by the leaders of our states in December 2023. We will need to work hard to achieve the goals. For the further sustainable development of the Eurasian Economic Union we are expected to address several tasks,” Roman Golovchenko said.

One of them is industrial cooperation. “This is an area where we have to find common projects to collaborate on. Find, put them together and finance them. Then get results. Joint work in this direction is not just about ensuring technological sovereignty. It is the key to the economic security of our countries,” the prime minister said.

“We look forward to further substantive and effective efforts to implement the Belarusian initiative - the Eurasian E-Bus pilot project. Belarus, for its part, is creating all conditions for cooperative interaction between industrial enterprises to manufacture a joint product under the Eurasian brand. We ask the EAEU member states and the EEC to actively engage in this process to attract industrial enterprises with competences in the production of electric vehicles, parts, units and components for them,” the Belarusian head of government said.
