MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – A regular mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will come to Belarus in November, BelTA learned from Belarusian Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi on 29 October.
The official said: “Our negotiations with the IMF are on extended pause. A regular mission will arrive in November for Article IV consultations in order to evaluate our economy. Certainly, we will talk with the experts to once again review all the matters during the mission.”
Dmitry Krutoi said that no plans to discuss loans with the mission had been made. “We are not talking about a possible loan right now,” he said.
The IMF arranges bilateral Article IV consultations with member states every year. An IMF team is dispatched into the country to collect economic and financial data and discuss economic changes and the country’s economic policy measures with government officials.
