MINSK, 2 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian government hopes for higher domestic economic growth, Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Matyushevsky told the media on the sidelines of the KEF 2017 conference Foundations of the Future on 2 November, BelTA has learned.
“The current GDP growth is relatively low. It is still a recovery growth and we hope for greater progress,” noted Vasily Matyushevsky.
In January-September 2017 Belarus’ GDP growth made up 1.7%. Inflation stood at 2.7%. The government and the National Bank met six out of seven key performance indicators. Experts also note progress in the seventh parameter, namely the real income of the population.
In 2018 Belarus’ gross domestic product is projected at 3.4%. According to the forecasts, the Belarusian economy may expand by 12.1-15% within five years by 2020.
