MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) - The range of tools at the disposal of the high-level working group under the CIS Executive Committee allows effectively removing obstacles in the CIS market, Belarus’ Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko said during the 103rd session of the CIS Economic Council in Moscow, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.
The agenda of the event included more than 20 items regarding the industrial policy, healthcare, transportation corridors, and environmental protection. Priority attention was given to mechanisms for removing obstacles to mutual trade between CIS member states.
“The high-level working group established under the CIS Executive Committee is an effective tool to remove obstacles in the CIS market. In the course of six meetings, the group reviewed 34 complaints from the CIS participants. As a result of the review, solutions were found in terms of 22 of them and the complaints were withdrawn. Monitoring is still in place in terms of eight complaints until the obstacle is removed completely. Four issues that require comprehensive work were submitted for discussion at today's meeting of the Economic Council for a consolidated decision at the level of the CIS supreme bodies,” Alesya Abramenko said.
