Head of Russia’s Chechnya tests Belarusian bus, sport truck

Head of Russia’s Chechnya tests Belarusian bus, sport truckMINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – Head of the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation Ramzan Kadyrov visited the Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ on 25 September, BelTA has learned. During the tour of the company Ramzan Kadyrov tested an urban bus powered by a natural gas engine and drove a sport truck.

Ramzan Kadyrov said: “Once again I am sure that MAZ is a giant company that makes outstanding world-class products.”

The Chechen delegation saw 16 latest MAZ products, including buses, trucks, dump trucks, road construction machines, and mobile offices. Ramzan Kadyrov was most interested in the gas-powered bus MAZ-203 with its low floor since its “predecessors” are already in use in Russian cities. Ramzan Kadyrov personally took the bus for a ride around the factory’s premises. He was pleased with the results and suggested cooperation to the developers.

After the bus Ramzan Kadyrov turned his attention to the sport truck MAZ-5309, which Belarusian racers use for rallies like Dakar and Silk Road. Out of the blue, the head of the Chechen Republic said he wanted to test the sport truck as a driver, not a navigator. It was actually the first time the head of a delegation had decided to drive one such truck, which is usually handled by experienced drivers. “We were pleasantly surprised,” MAZ representatives told BelTA.

Ramzan Kadyrov was pleased with the MAZ vehicles. “I am impressed. Now we will establish tight business ties, which will be profitable for MAZ, Minsk, and Chechnya,” he promises. Ramzan Kadyrov left a note in the distinguished visitors book.

MAZ intends to expand cooperation with Russia’s Chechnya. In particular, the Belarusian company intends to work with Chechen transport companies and utilities organizations, which need reliable trucks and passenger vehicles. Ramzan Kadyrov’s visit to MAZ is expected to give a new impulse to these relations.
