Grodno Oblast to step up cooperation with Russia’s Tuva Republic, Komi Republic

GRODNO, 8 April (BelTA) – Grodno Oblast intends to step up efforts to expand cooperation with Russia’s regions, especially with the Tuva Republic and the Komi Republic, Grodno Oblast Vice Governor Vitaly Nevera told journalists on 8 April, BelTA has learned.

The Grodno Oblast Executive Committee hosted a web-based meeting of the working groups on cooperation between Grodno Oblast and the Tuva Republic and the Komi Republic. These committees are led by the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee. Taking part in the meeting were also diplomats and representatives of ministries that support export to these regions.

“Our major exports are agricultural products and derivative products. Grodno Oblast also supplies farm and municipal machinery, metal products to these Russian regions ,” Vitaly Nevera noted. He stressed that it is important to increase exports and advance cooperation in various fields, including in culture and education.

The participants of the meeting also discussed prospects for the near future, Vitaly Nevera noted. Organizing face-to-face meetings will also help bolster contacts. For example, plans are in place to arrange a visit of Belarusian businessmen to the Tuva Republic and B2B meetings as well as to sign agreements.
