MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) - The China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone expects about Br1 billion of revenue from its residents by the end of the year, First Deputy Director General of the Industrial Park Development Company Kirill Koroteyev said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

The Great Stone Industrial Park currently has 120 registered residents, 55 of which are Chinese. “The volume of declared investments is $1.4 billion. Some $855 million have already been invested in the fixed capital, and every dollar of this amount is maximally effective. The park is already bearing fruit for all participants of the process, for the national economy,” Kirill Koroteyev said.

The amount of taxes paid by residents has covered the budget expenditures on external infrastructure threefold, he emphasized. “The internal infrastructure is handled by our company. By the end of this year, we expect around Br1 billion of revenue from our residents, which is one and a half times more than in the previous year. The trend to increase this indicator is constant - profitability is growing, and turnover is growing. These are only 44 companies out of 120 that have launched their activities. Only a few have reached their design capacity so far,” Kirill Koroteyev said.

The park's activities also benefit ordinary people – some 2,820 jobs have been created, and the average salary is Br3,153. “It is a higher indicator than in Belarus in general. This is the achievement we are proud of,” the first deputy director general said.

The key areas of development were laid down when the park was set up, he said. “These are electronics, fine chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals. These are the sectors our country needs. Joint ventures in mechanical engineering are also among the priorities. New areas are e-commerce, big data processing and logistics,” Kirill Koroteyev said.
