MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian agricultural machines manufacturer Gomselmash has received an order on the delivery of seven harvesters to Cameroon. The corresponding documents were signed at the Belarusian-French-African business forum in Paris, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in France.

The business forum in Paris was organized by the Belarusian diplomatic representation under the auspices of the French companies SOSEA and PODIA. The event was focused on the presentation of the Belarusian mechanical engineering sector. Taking part in the forum were about 100 businessmen from Belarus, Belgium, France, Senegal, Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, and also ambassadors and diplomats of several African countries.

Speaking at the forum was Belarus’ Ambassador in France Pavel Latushko, who emphasized the success in advancing the Belarusian equipment to the African markets with the help of French companies. The ambassador also stressed that Belarus is working on some export contracts to the African countries in cooperation with the companies SOSEA, PODIA and Groupe GIMA.

The forum displayed almost all the areas of the Belarusian mechanical engineering: agricultural equipment (MTZ, Gomselmash, Bobruiskagromash, Belagromash), trucks (MAZ), road construction vehicles (Amkodor), motor industry (MMZ). The ways to finance the supplies of equipment to the African market were provided in the speeches of Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of Belarus Sergei Rumas and Director for Trade Finance of the African Export-Import Bank Afreximbank Gwen Mwaba.

According to the embassy, businessmen from Senegal are expected to visit Minsk this week to hold talks on the supply of 30 MAZ trucks.
