MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – The sanctions have brought Russia and Belarus closer not only politically, but also economically, Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a business forum in Nizhny Novgorod, BelTA has learned.
“The year 2022 was not easy. However, we managed to help each other, lend a hand, fulfill orders, provide our countries with the necessary products and thus make a common contribution to countering the external pressure that our states are subjected to,” said Roman Golovchenko.
According to him, the sanctions had a positive effect. “They prompted the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus to close ranks not only politically, but also economically. We were able to take a fresh look at our scientific, technical, production potential, to focus on ensuring national technological sovereignty and economic security,” the prime minister emphasized.
The Belarusian head of government wished the participants of the business forum fruitful work and successful negotiations.
