Ghana wants to set up assembly plants for Belarusian equipment

MINSK, 18 February (BelTA) – Ghana is interested in setting up assembly plants for Belarusian equipment, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the working trip of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Nigeria and Ghana (with concurrent accreditation) Vyacheslav Beskosty.

The Ambassador met with First Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ghana Clement Osei-Amoako. “The senior representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ghana are interested in setting up assembly plants for Belarusian equipment in Ghana, training of Ghanaian specialists in Belarusian universities, cooperation in agriculture and medicine,” the press release of the press service reads.

In this context, the sides shared opinions about the possible organization of the visit of the delegation of Ghanaian businessmen to Belarus in 2016. Vyacheslav Beskosty and Clement Osei-Amoako deem it necessary to hold more expositions. “In particular, the sides discussed the holding of a large-scale presentation of products of Belarus’ leading exporters in Accra,” the representatives of the ministry added.

During the working trip the Ambassador of Belarus also met with Chief Director (in the rank of the deputy minister) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana Leslie Christian. “They discussed the topical agenda of bilateral relations and international issues. The sides mentioned the productive meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of the two countries on the sidelines of the 52nd Munich Security Conference and harmonized the terms of the first round of political consultations on an interim basis,” the press release of the press service reads.

The sides pointed out the importance of developing the legal framework of bilateral relations. The Belarusian side submitted a number of draft international agreements for Ghana’s consideration.
