MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – A joint car making company can be set up in Belarus together with German partners, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at the meeting of the non-governmental Belarus-German Business Cooperation Council on 1 June, BelTA has learned.
According to Vladimir Makei, Belarus pays great attention to green economy. Among the priorities is the development of electric transport, the enhancement of energy efficiency of the housing stock, the use of waste as secondary material resources. “Keeping in mind German’s rich experience in the abovementioned areas, we are deeply interested in the German technologies and investment projects,” Vladimir Makei said.
The minister cited as an example an idea to launch the production of cars in Belarus in cooperation with German partners. “I think that we have all necessary conditions for it. If we try and do it, this will be a serious contribution to the development of our bilateral economic cooperation,” the minister said.
Vladimir Makei stressed that Belarus is open to cooperation with Germany in every area. “We are ready to consider and support any mutual beneficial projects,” the foreign minister emphasized.
