MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – The recommendations of the French company Vinci concerning the audit and effective management of the Belarusian system of water supply were discussed during the meeting between Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin and Antoine Erout, Managing Director at Water Management International, Vinci Construction Group, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.
Antoine Erout said that the French company is interested in expanding its operations in the countries of Eastern Europe. It views Belarus as a point of entry to the market of the Customs Union.
Anatoly Kalinin thanked Antoine Erout for the interest in conducting projects in Belarus and noted that the Belarusian government pays special attention to sustainable use of water resources. A range of measures have been taken to fulfill the tasks concerning the supply of safe drinking water in the country set by the Belarusian head of state for the next five years.
After the meeting, Anatoly Kalinin instructed the Belarusian Housing and Utilities Ministry and other parties concerned to consider the memorandum of cooperation proposed by the French company, identify jointly with Vinci cities for pilot water supply auditing projects, and develop cooperation on the basis of public-private partnership. Belarus’ Housing and Utilities Minister Alexander Terekhov has been tasked with coordinating the project.
