MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – Taking into account its advantageous geographical position Belarus should be viewed as a good partner for reaching the Eurasian Economic Union market. The opinion was voiced by Philippe Richert, President of Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine Region of France, as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
The meeting focused on prospects of cooperation between Belarus and France’s largest agricultural region. Agriculture development is a priority area of effort for Belarus. Bearing the fact in mind, close attention was paid to bilateral cooperation in agricultural affairs. Pavel Latushko and Philippe Richert reached an agreement on organizing visits of representatives of business circles and government agencies of Belarus and France for the sake of discussing possible joint projects in agriculture.
A vice president of the region, who is responsible for overseeing agriculture, and the president of the France-Belarus friendship group in the French parliament, also took part in the meeting. The Ambassador of Belarus informed participants of the meeting about the successful implementation of a number of projects by French companies in Belarus in such areas as milk processing and potato farming. Representatives of the French side said they would like to share the best practices of French agricultural enterprises with Belarusian partners.
