BEIJING, 5 May (BelTA) – The first 15 resident companies of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone will invest about $2 billion, BelTA learned from Zhang Dong, Deputy Head of the Europe and Asia Department of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
Zhang Dong underlined that a tour of the industrial park is an important part of the state visit of China President Xi Jinping to Belarus. During the visit certificates that confirm participation in the park will be presented to the first resident companies. Xi Jinping is expected to attend the ceremony. The first resident companies are supposed to include about 15 major Chinese corporations, with Huawei and ZTE among them.
The China-Belarus Industrial Park has its own peculiarities although China creates a lot of parks like that, noted the official. The park in Belarus is the largest one in terms of territory. The fact that the park is a common project of Belarus and China, a strategic platform in the economic zone of the Silk Road is another peculiarity, said Zhang Dong.
