MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – The export of products made by enterprises of the Industry Ministry increased by more than 15%  in 2022, First Deputy Industry Minister Aleksandr Ogorodnikov told journalists prior to the meeting of the final collegium of the Industry Ministry, BelTA has learned.

“The past year was remarkable for unprecedented pressure from the collective West. And it was preceded by a difficult 2021, when most enterprises faced the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, from disruption of traditional supply chains to the change of suppliers. However, it allowed managers to gain new experience and skills. Yet, in 2022 we had to address a completely new task - at least $1 billion worth of exports had to be redirected from the markets of unfriendly countries, including the European Union, North America, Ukraine. We did it. Last year, exports of enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry exceeded $6 billion, up by 15.3%,” said Aleksandr Ogorodnikov.

According to him, the Russian Federation accounts for the lion’s share of exports ($4.9 billion), up by more than 50%.

He noted that the ministry fulfilled the task to increase the nominal gross average monthly wage up to Br1,704. Enterprises of the Industry Ministry reported a 19.4% growth over 2021 while the task was 19.3%. At the same time, average monthly salaries at these enterprises grew much faster than salaries in the country as a whole. “The Industry Ministry is an umbrella organization for almost 250 companies, both big and small,” the first deputy minister noted.
