MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) - United Transport and Logistics Company - Eurasian Rail Alliance (UTLC ERA) will buy 200 rail cars from Osipovichi Transport Engineering Plant, UTLC ERA President Aleksei Grom told the media, BelTA has learned.

“In March and April 2019, we will get 200 rail cars. The sum of the transaction is over RUB660 million (around $10 million),” Aleksei Grom noted.

The UTLC ERA president said that the company has concluded an agreement with Osipovichi plant to buy up to 1,000 80-feet rail cars. “We are expecting the first shipment and hope that the cars will be of high quality. We plan to develop strategic cooperation with this plant,” Aleksei Grom added.

UTLC ERA has over 4,000 rail cars in operation now and plans to increase the amount to 5,000 by the end of 2019.

UTLC ERA is an operator of transit container services between China and Europe. The company operates a regular container train service through the territories of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus from China to Europe and back. The shareholders of the company are Belarusian Railways, Russian Railways, and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy railway company (33.33% of stock each).
