MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – The European Union plans to support projects to enhance the efficiency of energy and water resources in Belarus. The decision is laid down in the financial agreement EU4Belarus: Resource Efficiency Facility for Belarus, BelTA learned from the Energy Efficiency Department of the Belarusian State Committee for Standardization.
The budget of the new joint cooperation program makes up €15 million. Brest Oblast and Grodno Oblast have been chosen as pilot locations.
The program will help work out measures for investment activities envisaging energy efficiency, more effective management of resources, modernization of municipal and private infrastructure.
The European Union will also support the dialogue on state policy, coordination and cooperation between key players in the field (government bodies, local administration and the civil society), potential investors and other stakeholders.
