MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – The Economy Ministry will use its every effort to implement the UN Development Assistance Framework for Belarus, Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky said at a meeting with UN Assistant Secretary-General, UNDP Assistant Administrator, Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and CIS Cihan Sultanoglu on 27 October, BelTA learnt from the Economy Ministry.
The parties discussed the UN Development Assistance Framework for Belarus for 2016-2010 signed on 23 October 2015. It was noted that the Economy Ministry would do it level best for the efficient fulfilment of the UN Development Assistance Framework and the UNDP Country Programme as well as the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
According to the Economy Ministry, the UN Development Assistance Framework is based on the Belarusian sustainable social and economic development strategy through 2030 and a wide range of state programs. Working on the program were groups that comprised representatives of the UN agencies, government bodies and the civil society.
Vladimir Zinovsky also informed the UN/UNDP representatives on the work conducted in the government to approve the UNDP Country Programme for 2016-2020, a project developed to continue the Development Assistance Framework.
It is expected that the implementation of the UNDP program will expand consulting assistance for the Belarusian government on strategic issues in the areas such as the social and economic development forecast, higher national resilience to external shocks, social protection of vulnerable groups, the Economy Ministry said.
