MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) – The promotion of economic cooperation was the major purpose of the visit of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to India Vitaly Prima to Kolkata, West Bengal, on 6-8 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
During the visit Vitaly Prima held talks with Speaker of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Biman Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, and West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi.
The parties discussed cooperation in trade, economy and investments, a possibility to increase the export of Belarusian products to West Bengal, closer cooperation in the manufacturing industry, interregional ties between Minsk Oblast and West Bengal, and joint projects in the field of culture and education.
The Belarusian Ambassador took part in the Bengal Global Business Summit where he held talks with heads of India’s biggest companies. Apart from that, the Belarusian diplomat met with researchers studying the CIS region at the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies. They shared views on integration processes on the post-Soviet space.
While visiting the Bharat Chamber of Commerce in West Bengal, Vitaly Prima told Indian businessmen about Belarus’ potential in economy, manufacturing, science, technologies, tourism and investments.
