Days of Grodno Oblast at Expo Milano 2015 on 4-5 August

GRODNO, 21 July (BelTA) – The Days of Grodno Oblast will take place at Expo Milano 2015 on 4-5 August, BelTA learnt from the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.

Expo Milano 2015 is a large-scale event that started on 1 May to last for six months. Its theme is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. According to the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee, while in Milan, Grodno representatives will showcase the trade and economic potential of Grodno Oblast and tell about the investment and tourist potential of the region. There are plans to establish mutually beneficial business contacts with Italian partners and other foreign companies.

The main presentation of Grodno Oblast will take place at Expo Milano 2015 on 4 August. Exhibitors and guests of the expo will be shown the opportunities of the free economic zone Grodnoinvest, leading companies in the priority economic sectors of the oblast, including in agriculture and food processing. Partaking in the expo will be OAO Molochny Mir, Grodno Meat Packing Plant, OAO Bellakt, Grodno Distillery, ZOV Group, Conte Spa and other companies.

Grodno Oblast will present its tourist potential on 5 August. Visitors of the expo will learn about Grodno Oblast's rich historical and cultural heritage, its health resorts and the most attractive tourist facilities.

While in Italy, Grodno Oblast plans to establish trade and economic cooperation with Italy’s Veneto region. Talks on cooperation are scheduled for these days. Representatives of the administration of the city and the oblast as well as businessmen of the oblast are intended to discuss issues related to the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation in industry, trade, tourism and other areas.

The trade with Italy made up about 2.5% of Grodno Oblast foreign trade in 2014.
