GRODNO, 18 February (BelTA) - The Days of Belarus will be held in regions of Turkey in 2016. The announcement was made during a visit to Grodno Oblast of a delegation of the Turkish-Belarusian Business Cooperation Council, BelTA has learned.
"We are interested in the development of bilateral and regional cooperation. Starting March the Days of Belarus will be held in the most developed regions of Turkey. We hope similar events will be organized in the regions of Belarus,” Chairman of the Turkish-Belarusian Council of Business Cooperation Sefa Gemdeniz said at a meeting in the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.
He explained that the Turkish business community is interested in expanding cooperation in logistics and banking, increasing the number of direct flights between the countries and in bolstering cultural and educational ties. The guests also showed a keen interest in the Festival of National Cultures in Grodno.
Concrete prospects for cooperation were outlined during the meetings in the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee and the Free Economic Zone Grodnoinvest.
“We are ready to invite Turkish investors to participate in the construction of the second hydroelectric power station on the Neman River. As for logistics, our oblast boasts favorable location. A modern airport in Grodno will help establish direct air service with Turkey. We are ready to discuss joint projects in education,” noted Grodno Oblast Vice Governor Ivan Zhuk. He also drew the guests’ attention to other important investment areas such as construction, mechanical engineering, tourism and services sector.
On 18 February the Turkish delegation got familiar with the investment potential of Grodno Oblast and FEZ Grodnoinvest.
