MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – In 2017 the share of dairy products in Belarus’ exports to China rose from 11% to 64%, Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, said at a press conference on 1 March, BelTA has learned.
“With regard to China, we are working very hard on that market. The structure of our exports to China changed last year. Previously, raw materials accounted for almost 70% of our exports there. We supplied leather, furs, flax fiber,” Aleksei Bogdanov informed.
"Last year the share of processed products, in particular dairy, rose from 11% to 64%. Mostly it is UHT-milk which is delivered directly to the store shelves.” Aleksei Bogdanov noted.
At the end of December of 2017, during the visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats to China, the parties signed the contracts worth $114 million. “Now we are working on their execution,” the ministry’s official noted.
