MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – Cuba is interested in purchasing Belarusian agricultural machinery and food products, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Belarus Santiago Perez Benitez told reporters at the Belagro 2022 international expo, BelTA has learned.
“We came to the exhibition with a delegation of Cuba’s Ministry of Agriculture, as our country is very interested in purchasing your equipment. Many vehicles in Cuba need to be upgraded and replaced, so we will meet with our Belarusian partners and company representatives to chart out cooperation plans. We are also interested in foodstuffs, in particular meat and dairy products,” the ambassador said.
He emphasized that in the conditions of external economic pressure, the visit of the Cuban delegation is meant to show Cuba’s solidarity with Belarus. “We want to show that Belarus is not alone, we are ready to stand with your country. We want Belarus to know that no matter what it has loyal partners who have gathered here at the Belagro exhibition, which is an important and significant event for all of us,” the ambassador said.
The international exhibition Belagro 2022 is running in the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone from 7 to 11 June. This year more than 400 companies from various countries, including Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and others are taking part in the exhibition. The expo features a large number of participants from Russia - more than 30 regions are represented.
