MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Belarusian and Ukrainian petrochemical companies signed contracts worth more than $400 million at the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine in Zhitomir on 3 October. Attending the forum are representatives of the Belarusian petrochemical sector led by Chairman of Belneftekhim Concern Andrei Rybakov, BelTA learned from the press service of Belneftekhim Concern.
Contracts for 3D seismic works with data processing and interpretation, and overhaul of oil and gas wells were signed by the subsidiary of Belorusneft in Ukraine, Service Oil, and Ukrgazdobycha. Agreements were also reached on the supply of products of the Belarusian Gas Processing Plant of Belorusneft.
Contracts were concluded to supply Ukraine with glass fibers, rovings, glass fabrics and fiberglass mesh produced by Polotsk-Steklovolokno, polyester yarns and nonwoven materials made at SvetlogorskKhimvolokno, Belshina tires, and fertilizers of Gomel Chemical Plant and Grodno Azot.
A number of agreements on delivery of petroleum products were signed by a subsidiary company of Belarusian Oil Company - BNK-Ukraine. A representative of the distribution network of BNH-Ukraine Concern will ensure supplies of Belarusian petrochemical products to the Ukrainian market under the memorandums of cooperation signed at the forum.
On display at the exhibition held as part of the Forum of Regions in Zhitomir are fertilizers of Gomel Chemical Plant and Grodno Azot, tire products of Belshina, and a pumping unit of Belorusneft.
According to the press service, Ukraine is among the three main trading partners of Belneftekhim Concern due to the country's geographical location and long-standing economic ties. Ukraine accounts for about 30% of the company’s total exports.
In 2018, Belneftekhim’s trade with Ukrainian organizations totaled $2.7 billion, up 14.6% from 2017. The main exports to Ukraine include oil products, fertilizers, tires, and polyethylene. Among other deliveries are chemical thread and fiber, polyethylene and polypropylene film, nonwoven fabric, cord fabric, fiberglass and its products, alkyds, polyamides, and other products of the Belarusian chemical industry.
