GOMEL, 23 March (BelTA) - The third Congress of Free Economic Zones has opened in Gomel, BelTA has learned.
The two-day congress will highlight the role of free economic zones, industrial, science and technology parks as drivers of the development of territories, the administration of the Free Economic Zone Gomel-Raton informed. More than 250 people confirmed their participation in the forum. Among them are representatives of free economic zones, industrial, science and technology parks from Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, and also officials of the Economy Ministry, the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and the Gomel City Executive Committee, and FEZ Gomel-Raton resident companies.
The forum opened with a meet-up on the role of free economic zones, industrial, science and technology parks in the development of territories. The congress will explore the role of the investor in the new realities, the potential of the FEZ of Belarus in implementing logistics projects, the role of free economic zones in increasing innovation and investment activity. Gomel Oblast will present its economic and investment capabilities at the plenary part of the congress.
The main session will discuss the mechanism for increasing the investment attractiveness of free economic zones, industrial parks and technology parks, cooperation between the FEZs of Russia, Belarus and Uzbekistan in the current environment. The program also includes roundtables, a panel discussion on an infrastructure platform model towards the Sustainable Development Goals, meetings in the B2B and B2G format. Cooperation agreements are expected to be signed.
