MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – The companies run by the Belarusian Industry Ministry are ready to supply machinery to African countries, Belarusian First Deputy Industry Minister Gennady Svidersky told reporters when asked to comment on the prospects for exports to this region, including with the support of African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and with the participation of France, BelTA has learned.
“We are ready to consider and co-finance such exports. However, we have no concrete projects today. We are working on this,” Gennady Svidersky said.
He pointed out that Belarus has a system of export support. “If we have an export contract with a solvent customer, this system allows us to lend an initial sum of money to this customer,” Gennady Svidersky explained.
BelTA reported earlier that Afreximbank showed interest in supplies of Belarusian machine-building products to the countries of the region. Agreement was reached to discuss issues related to the financing of the export of products of MAZ, MTZ, BelAZ, Amkodor, Gomselmash and other companies to Africa.
