BEIJING, 4 May (BelTA) – The visit of China President Xi Jinping to Belarus will contribute to faster implementation of the project to create the China-Belarus Industrial Park, BelTA learned from Chinese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Cheng Guoping during a meeting with representatives of Belarusian mass media in Beijing.
The project to create the park should become an exemplary one in Belarus-China cooperation, said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. Xi Jinping is expected to visit the site during the visit. “Chinese leadership pays close attention to the implementation of the project to create the China-Belarus Industrial Park,” noted Cheng Guoping. He underlined the importance of further developing Belarusian-Chinese trade and economic cooperation, which is mutually beneficial. Belarusian-Chinese economic ties grow stronger every year.
Belarus and China established diplomatic relations in 1992. Advancing cooperation with the People’s Republic of China is a priority direction of Belarus’ foreign policy. The sides regularly exchange top-level visits. In 2013 the bilateral relations reached the stage of comprehensive strategic partnership. The fact was stipulated by the joint declaration signed by the leaders of the two countries. In 2014 a program for advancing comprehensive strategic partnership in 2014-2018 was signed.
