MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – The session of the CIS Intergovernmental Council for the Timber Processing and Forestry Industry will take place in Belarus on 19-21 July, BelTA learned from the website of the Forestry Ministry.
Representatives of Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Moldova have been invited. The preparations are in progress.
The CIS Intergovernmental Council for the Timber Processing and Forestry Industry was established in 1998 for the establishment and development of cooperation in the timber processing and forestry industry between the CIS member states. It included Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. The chairman of the intergovernmental council is elected from the heads of forestry agencies of the CIS member states once in two years. Belarus’ Forestry Minister Mikhail Amelyanovich was elected in 2016.
