BEIJING, 14 May (BelTA) – China will provide more than $340 million for the development of the Belarusian enterprises Amkodormash, Saleo-Gomel, and Saleo-Kobrin, Belarusian Deputy Finance Minister Yuri Seliverstov told reporters on 14 May, BelTA has learned.
“Agreements have already been signed with the Chinese side to implement three mechanical engineering projects to the total tune of over $340 million. These include the construction and development of the enterprises Amkodormash, Saleo-Gomel, and Saleo-Kobrin,” Yuri Seliverstov said.
He also noted that specialists are studying the possibility of granting financial support to projects in petrochemical industry, including projects to upgrade the Belarusian oil refineries and the enterprise Grodno Azot. China is ready to provide assistance in these areas. However, it is too early to talk about any specific figures and timelines.
The parties are also considering matters related to China’s participation in other investment projects in Belarus. “We meet with potential investors who are ready to communicate and cooperate with us. Besides, we are exploring aspects of our presence in the domestic financial market of China,” Yuri Seliverstov said.
