MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – An agreement on the €100 million loan for ASB Belarusbank to boost the national economy was signed in Beijing on 24 April, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in China.
The document was signed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy and Chairman of the Board of China Development Bank Zhao Huan. The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation.
Plans are in place to sign more than 20 agreements during the current visit of the Belarusian delegation to China as part of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the ambassador told the media earlier. “These include one intergovernmental, six ministerial agreements and 13 business contracts. The intergovernmental agreement which is to be signed between the transport ministries of the two countries will open the Chinese market of services for Belarusian forwarders,” the diplomat said.
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko is scheduled to take part in the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing on 25-27 April. The head of state is set to hold a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event. The Belarusian leader and China President Xi Jinping are expected to meet to discuss the implementation of the biggest joint projects, the development of interregional cooperation and prospects for bolstering Belarus-China ties in trade, economic, investment, humanitarian and other areas.
