China-Belarus industrial park shares city planning experience at conference in Switzerland

MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – The China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone presented its city planning experience at an international conference in Geneva, Switzerland, the park’s press service told BelTA.

The first international conference Day of Cities took place at premises of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva on 8-9 April. The conference offered a platform for exchanging views and sharing knowledge of good practices and successful planning strategies. Participants of the forum discussed approaches to creating smart sustainable cities, focusing on ways to improve the quality of life of people and on improving the efficiency of urban operations, services and competitiveness.

The China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone presented its own experience of city planning and functional zoning of territories as well as the experience of creating infrastructure compliant with high ecological standards.

Apart from that, the park’s accomplishments and prospects were discussed in detail during a Belarus-Switzerland business forum in the city of Genthod. Negotiations are in progress with Swiss companies to discuss the possible implementation of several investment projects in the park, in particular, production of transport solutions and medications.
