MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Changes to Belarus’ tax legislation will become more predictable for business, Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Matyushevsky told journalists on 16 February, BelTA has learned.
The government has pledged not to make any changes to the national tax regulations during the year starting from 2016. “If we set out certain rules of the game for 2016, we do not change these rules during the year,” Vasily Matyushevsky explained. He added that the government hopes that no amendments will be made to the Belarusian tax legislation in 2015.
“Our actions should be predictable and clear. At the moment, this is probably the main thing for Belarusian businessmen,” Vasily Matyushevsky noted.
For his part, Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Entrepreneurs Alexander Kalinin pointed out: “The Belarusian fiscal system is a product of the dialogue between businessmen and the government, and this system is quite effective.”
Alexander Kalinin also noted with satisfaction that the Belarusian government acceded to the request of the business community to make the changes to the national tax legislation more predictable. This means that the dialogue with Belarusian businessmen should be continuous and the adaptation period (at least three months from the moment when new regulations take effect) should be observed, Alexander Kalinin said.
