YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – Belarusian cows will be delivered to Sakhalin by cargo Boeing planes, Russia’s Sakhalin Oblast agriculture minister Mikhail Kuzmenko said during a meeting with representatives of Belarusian and Russian federal mass media, BelTA has learned.
According to the minister, the herd of cattle will be used at a new dairy farm which is being built according to the Belarusian design in the village of Razdolnoye, Korsakov District. The farm is designed for 1,000 head. Six hundred animals will be delivered to Sakhalin from Belarus in the late 2017 or early 2018.
According to Mikhail Kuzmenko, Belarus has developed the necessary transport logistics.
The supplier of 400 more cows will be chosen during a tender in the near future. The minister assumed that the rest of the herd can be brought from Belarus as well.
Belarusian journalists are visiting Sakhalin Oblast of Russia as part of a press tour to the region organized by the Union State Permanent Committee and the international information agency Russia Today with the support of the Sakhalin Oblast government.
