MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – By joining efforts Belarus and Russia can and should secure a breakthrough in research and development. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement during the plenary session of the third Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Minsk on 8 June, BelTA has learned.
The President is convinced it is necessary to enable conditions for expanding cooperation between scientists and engineers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. “Russian regions that have major scientific and industrial centers, outstanding higher education institutions could make their substantial contribution to cooperation organization. Through joint efforts we can and should secure a breakthrough in research and development,” noted Alexander Lukashenko.
The President underlined that today’s world benefits the countries capable of rapidly mastering state-of-the-art technologies. “This is why scientific and R&D cooperation, the formation of common educational space occupy an important position in the forum’s scope. They represent indispensable components of long-term promising nature in Belarus-Russia multifaceted cooperation,” said the head of state.
