BREST, 4 October (BelTA) – Brest rescue workers intend to cooperate with German colleagues in professional, cultural and sport fields, BelTA learned from Nikolai Kuzmitsky, Head of the Propaganda and Training Center of the Brest Oblast Department of Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry.
The agreement was reached as a delegation of the Brest Oblast Department of Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry visited the Oberhavel district, Brandenburg. Brest rescue workers offered their counterparts to work on joint projects on international technical assistance to promote volunteering, the youth rescue and firefighting movement and to provide the departments with rescue and firefighting equipment during the working meeting with government authorities and firefighters of the district. The German side showed interest in bilateral cooperation and exchange of the best practices.
The delegation of the Brest Oblast Department of Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry took part in a ceremony to honor the firefighters of Oberhavel district who had eliminated the effects of massive natural emergencies. The delegation also participated in a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the youth firefighting organization of Leegebruch municipality.
On the instruction of the emergencies minister the Brest rescue workers invited the German youth team to take part in the 16th International Young Rescue Workers Forum which will be held in Belarus in 2018.
During the working visit the guests got acquainted with an emergency response system, provision of medical, psychological, technical and other assistance to people during emergencies in Germany. For this purpose Germany organized a visit to the regional firefighters training center, the interregional emergencies response center and bases of voluntary firefighting service units.
