Brest Oblast presents its economic potential in Stavropol Krai

BREST, 27 February (BelTA) – The Days of Brest Oblast Economy in Stavropol Krai were held on 23-27 February, BelTA learnt from the Brest Oblast Economy Committee.

The delegation of Brest Oblast businessmen, led by Vice Governor Andrei Klets, included representatives of the Brest Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pinsk and Brest Meat Packing Plants, Baranovichi Dairy, Brestzhilstroi, Brestselmash and other companies of the oblast.

The program of the Days comprised talks and business matchmaking sessions between economic entities of the Belarusian and Russian regions. The Brest Oblast delegation visited companies in Stavropol Krai, held meetings with representatives of government bodies and business circles. An agreement was signed between Pyatigorsk and Pruzhany District to develop trade, economic, social and cultural cooperation.

According to the Brest Oblast Economy Committee, the trade between Brest Oblast and Stavropol Krai totaled $24.4 million in 2014. Brest Oblast sells to the Russian region its dairy products, gas stoves, fish and seafood, ceramic tiles and imports mineral waters, chocolate and other confectionery.
