Brest Electrotechnical Plant set to increase exports to CIS countries

BREST, 29 October (BelTA) – OAO Brest Electrotechnical Plant is set to increase its exports to the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, BelTA learned from Pavel Shkurdai, Head of the Marketing Department at Brest Electrotechnical Plant.

This year, the plant sells its railroad automation, remote control and communication equipment to Russia, the countries of Central Asia, and the Baltic states. For example, a large batch of goods worth €700,000 has been shipped to Latvia. Brest Electrotechnical Plant also signed a contract with Turkmenistan to supply some $500,000 worth of products that will be used to equip 15 railway stations in this country.

The plant also signed a contract with subsidiary companies of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the national railway company of Kazakhstan. The document reads that in early 2016 the Belarusian enterprise will ship products to equip the railroad connecting the Kazakh capital of Astana with the city of Shu in the south of Kazakhstan. Besides, the Belarusian enterprise has plans to intensify its cooperation with Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

“Brest Electrotechnical Plant sells its products to the countries of the former Soviet Union. We are able to compete with local producers. We are interested in cooperation, so we are constantly working to find customers. Our specialists take part in international conferences, expos, promote our goods via email marketing. We are working hard to find new partners,” Pavel Shkurdai emphasized.

Founded in 1976, Brest Electrotechnical Plant is the only enterprise in Belarus manufacturing railroad automation, remote control and communication equipment used for ensuring and monitoring the safety of rail traffic. Its product range includes more than 600 items.
