MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Brazil shows interest in importing seismic and radial drilling services of the Belarusian oil company Belorusneft, Belarusian Honorary Consul in Sao Paulo (Brazil) Grigori Goldchleger told the media ahead of the meeting with members of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 4 October, BelTA has learned.

“We want to seal a deal with Belorusneft so that the company enters the Brazilian market. Belorusneft has very advanced technologies and highly qualified personnel. The company could provide seismic and radial drilling services in Brazil,” Grigori Goldchleger remarked. In his opinion, if such a player as Belorusneft came to the Brazilian market, this would make the prices for services competitive and help the Belarusian oil company make big profit.

Grigori Goldchleger also said that Brazil is interested in direct supplies of leather to Belarus. “We have visited a plant in Gatovo. You can be proud of it: this is a high-class company with very professional staff,” the honorary consul noted. He recalled that Brazil has been cooperating with Orsha Linen Mill for 25 years. This year the country established cooperation with Baranovichi Cotton Production Amalgamation.

The Belarusian steel mill BMZ is also considering exporting metal cord and wire to Brazil.

When asked whether Belarus-Brazil trade is cost-effective, taking into account the long distance between the countries, Grigory Goldchleger reassured that it is profitable, especially regarding Belarus’ supplies to Brazil. “Brazil exports a large amount of goods to Russia. It also delivers goods to Belarus. This is why the prices are quite attractive for shipping a container, say, from Klaipeda to Brazil,” the honorary consul emphasized.
