GOMEL, 2 April (BelTA) - Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark) has exported the first batch of products made at rolling mill No. 2, BelTA learned from spokesman for the company Alexander Olesik. BMZ sold 20 tonnes of rolled wire via the BMZ commodity distribution network (OOO Belmet, Austria) to Bulgaria.
The first tests of equipment at rolling mill No. 2 took place on 16 March. Back then the rolling mill 370/150 produced the first bundle of rolled wire. Since then the company has manufactured over 190 tonnes of products. The majority of goods were shipped to Rechitsa hardware plant. The first batch of products has been exported.
BMZ specialists are currently adjusting technological regimes, improving the rolling process and gearing up for the performance tests of equipment. The rolling mill will be officially launched in May 2015, according to the enterprise.
The new rolling mill is a key investment project of BMZ in the current five-year period. In accordance with the resolution of the Council of Ministers, it has been included in the list of the most important new production facilities and companies which play a special role in the country’s innovative development. Rolling mill No. 2 will make various kinds of rolled wires, including for car manufacturing. The rolling mill will make rod with the diameter from 5.5mm to 22mm, round bars with the diameter from 20mm to 80 mm, round wire with the diameter from 20mm to 50mm.

The enterprise specializes in cast bars, profiled iron, rolled steel, reinforcing bars, metal cord, wire for high-pressure hoses and other kinds of wire. BMZ exports over 80% of the output.
