MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – The Holding Management Company Belkommunmash (BKM Holding) will ship eight compact electric buses to Batumi, Georgia, BelTA learned from the company’s Instagram page.

“We present you the most compact vehicle in the BKM Holding family of electric buses, the nine-meter E490. Eight such electric buses will go to the sunny city of Batumi (Georgia) this year,” the company said.

The presentation of this model to the Batumi city authorities took place in July 2017. BKM Holding CEO Vladimir Korol said in an interview with BelTA that in 2019 that the company won the tender to supply electric buses to the Georgian city. The customer, Batumi Autotransport, chose a white color for the E490 model, which symbolizes purity. These electric buses have been assembled since then.

BKM Holding also intends to continue increasing supplies to the markets of the CIS and Central Asia, to continue expanding the geography of equipment supplies to the European market. Belarusian electric buses have been tested in Tashkent, some Russian cities. Since 2019, with the assistance of the Belarusian Embassy in Spain and the Honorary Consul in Barcelona, the company has been developing cooperation with Catalonia. The joint production Wave Industries in Coventry, the UK continues to work on the following projects: development of electric freight transport, localization of assembly of electric buses, pilot operation of electric bus E420 with right-hand drive. However, due to the introduction of quarantine measures in the UK, there are some difficulties in putting the equipment into trial operation.
