MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – The Chinese company Hebei Xinbenshi Agricultural Technology is showing interest in purchasing meat via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), BelTA learned from BUCE.
“Following the results of negotiations between the BUCE and the company, there are plans to look into the possibility of organizing supplies of Belarusian agricultural products to China using the exchange mechanism. The Chinese side, in particular, expressed interest in purchasing pork and beef at trade sessions. According to the top manager of Hebei Xinbenshi Agricultural Technology, this product is in great demand in China,” the BUCE said.
Representatives of the BUCE confirmed readiness to assist in attracting Belarusian meat suppliers to the exchange and to provide full support for transactions, including calculations, control of performance, quality expertise and logistics.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was established in 2004. The first trade sessions took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest mercantile exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its key function is to assist Belarusian companies with exporting their products and assist foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. The commodity exchange facilitates trade in metals, timber, agricultural products, and a broad choice of industrial and consumer goods.
Currently, 21 Chinese companies are accredited with BUCE. Coniferous timber is mainly sold to the Chinese market through the exchange.
