GOMEL, 9 March (BelTA) – Specialists of the Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft have started studying the materials to determine the advisability of using modern oil recovery enhancement technologies in Indonesia, the press service of the industrial group told BelTA.
The introduction of Belarusian oil recovery enhancement methods at a pilot site in the Lirik Sago field is under consideration. The preliminary agreement on cooperation in this area was reached during a recent visit of the delegation of the Indonesian state oil and gas company Pertamina to Belarus. Information about one of the assets was handed over to the Belarusian side during the talks.
The sides signed a confidentiality agreement regarding the planned operation and joint researches. After Belorusneft specialists have clarified the necessary industrial information, the Belarusian and Indonesian companies intend to carry out joint researches to come up with the final evaluation of the project.
If the project is deemed advisable, the pilot project will be launched. If not, the Indonesian side intends to find another asset for the introduction of modern Belarusian technologies.
Pertamina Company is the world’s largest producer and exporter of liquefied natural gas and Indonesia’s second largest oil-extracting company after the American company Chevron.
The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in the surveying, prospecting and development of oil fields, well drilling, oil and associated petroleum gas extraction in Belarus and a number of other countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
