Belneftekhim’s exports up 27.5% in 2017

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – The organizations affiliated with the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim increased the export of goods to $7.7 billion in 2017, up 27.5% versus 2016, Belneftekhim Chairman Igor Lyashenko noted on 8 February at a session to assess the performance of the concern in 2017, BelTA has learned.

In 2017, the concern met the main targets in foreign trade in goods and services. The exports of goods reached $7.7 billion, up 27.5% from 2016. The exports of oil products surged by 32.1%, chemical and petrochemical products by 15.4%. The exports of services are expected to have grown by 16.5% versus 2016. The trade surplus in services grew by $23.1 million.

According to Igor Lyashenko, last year Belneftekhim maintained the momentum in sustainable development and carried out several investment projects. The industrial production index in comparable prices was 101% in 2017 as against 2016. In actual prices, the Belneftekhim-affiliated companies boosted the industrial production output by 22.7%. The production of petroleum-based lubricants went up by 22.7%, 95 RON gasoline by 10.6%, 98 RON gasoline by 21.9%, and bitumen by 29.9%.

The Belarusian petrochemical concern extracted 1.65 million tonnes of oil, or 100.3% as against 2016. The crude refinery output amounted to 18.126 million tonnes.

Innovative products accounted for 45.6% of the total volume of Belneftekhim’s sales. Stocks of finished goods in 2017 went down by 1.6% and made up 12.8% of the monthly production output.

The share of costs of production and selling products fell by 2.3%. The effect from the measures to reduce the costs reached Br228.7 million.
