Bellesbumprom branches out into seven new sales markets in 2015

MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – The Bellesbumprom Concern enterprises have branched out into the markets of seven new countries in 2015, BelTA learned from Bellesbumprom spokesperson Ruzhena Novitskaya.

“In 2015, the sales geography of the Belarusian wood processing industry enterprises included such countries as Vietnam, Pakistan, Macedonia, Croatia, Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Cote d’Ivioire,” Ruzhena Novitskaya noted. Plywood and furniture were delivered to Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina; paper and cardboard were exported to Pakistan, Macedonia, and Cote d’Ivioire; medium density fiberboards were brought to Ireland; timber was exported to Vietnam. In January-November 2015, these countries imported $408,400 worth of Bellesbumprom products.

Apart from that, last year Bellesbumprom resumed and increased the export of products to India, Afghanistan, and Egypt. In January-November 2015, the Belarusian wood processing concern exported almost $305,000 worth of products to India (in 2013 the export to this country totaled $59,500; there were no deliveries in 2014). Afghanistan imported $104,500 worth of plywood and medium density fiberboard (in 2013 the country imported $80,900 worth of plywood only; there were no deliveries in 2014). The export of plywood to Egypt made up $440,100. There had been deliveries to Egypt since 2012.

“Apart from the penetration of new sales markets, the Bellesbumprom Concern enterprises boosted the size of batches delivered to the countries, with which they maintain close trade and economic relations. In particular, the export to Iran rose six times to $2.9 million; to Spain – five times to $225,700; to the USA – 3.2 times to $2 million; to Italy and Slovakia – 1.3 times to $1.5 million and $1.68 million respectively. The export to China went up 14%, the deliveries to France increased by almost 7%,” Ruzhena Novitskaya explained.

In January-November 2015, the Bellesbumprom Concern enterprises raised the export of products to distant countries by 6.1% over the same period of 2014. “For example, in January-November 2014 non-CIS countries accounted for 28.2% of Bellesbumprom export; in the same period of the year 2015 the share of these countries in the structure of export made up 34.3%. The export to distant countries is on the rise because of the efforts to diversify sales markets, look for new partners in Eastern countries, Asia, and a number of European countries. These efforts will be continued in 2016,” the spokesperson said.
